Abstract

Strains with high tolerance and degradation ability to gibberellic acid (GA3) were obtained from gibberellic acid-contaminated paddy soil by gradient stimulation and breeding method, and then were identified by  morphology, physio-biochemical characteristics and 16S rDNA sequence analysis. The results indicated that 14 strains could tolerate 1200mg/L GA3, and 3 strains had high degradation activities on GA3 (The degradation rates were more than 50% on 200mg/L GA3). A strain named G-1, which hadhigh degradation ability and degradation stability to GA3, was identified as Enterococcus mundtii.
