Abstract
Pyruvate is the important intermediate by organic synthesis, which has widespread application in medicine, cosmetics, chemical production.Microbial production is one of the main methods to obtain pyruvate. To improve the viability and fermentation performance of the strain, shorten the fermentation time, and decrease energy consumption of industrial production, here, adaptive evolution of Torulopsis glabrata under the condition of three-step increased growth temperature was applied to improve the strain performance.A new T.glabrata TIB-G90 mutant was obtained which accumulates the same amount of pyruvate with less fermentation time at 40℃(24h) than 30℃(36h),was screened out. This study showed the potential of microbial adaptive evolution to improve microbial production of metabolites.
