
Screening of trehalose synthase producing strain and optimization of its fermentation conditions

Screening of trehalose synthase producing strain and optimization of its fermentation conditions
A trehalose synthase producing strain was isolated and screened from soil. Through biological transformation pathway identification, the strain contained trehalose synthase could convert maltose into trehalose. Using the conversion rate of trehalose as evaluation index, flask-shaking fermentation conditions were optimized. The results showed that the optimal fermentation conditions were maltose 2% as carbon source, yeast extract 0.5% and peptone 1% as nitrogen source, initial pH 7.0, inoculum 4%, fermentation temperature 35 ℃, fermentation time 48 h. Under this condition, the conversion rate of trehalose was 50%.
