In this paper, the acetaldehyde content in PET bottle for carbonation drink and preform was determined with headspace-gas chromatography. The results showed that the linear relationship, reproducibility and stability of the method were good. The linear correlation coefficient, detection limitation, average recovery and relative standard deviation were 0.9995, 0.2μg, 98.3% and 2.5%, respectively. Furthermore, the uncertainty assessment of the method indicated that the expanded uncertainty of the result was 1.4436μg/g (k=2) when the acetaldehyde content in the sample was 29.7020μg/g.
