Using Wistar rats as research objects, the regulating effect of a medicine-mulberry and grape wine on blood lipids in hyperlipidemia rats were explored. The serum, liver, heart and adipose tissue of experimental animals in each group were collected, and serum total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) were determined, the corresponding antioxidant indexes and histopathological examination of rat liver and heart were performed. The results showed that after gavage of the medicine- mulberry and grape wine, compared with the model group, the TC content in high, medium and low dose group decreased by 27.87%, 36.96% and 22.80% respectively (P<0.05), and the TG content decreased by 49.38%, 62.63% and 43.51%, respectively (P<0.05). The wine with different dosage significantly increased the activities of serum superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) (P<0.05), and significantly reduced the content of serum malondialdehyde (MDA) (P<0.05). Moderate amount of the wine could inhibit the accumulation of lipids in the rats liver, improve fatty liver lesions and lipid metabolism disorders, thereby reducing blood lipid levels in high-fat diet rats.
